Holidays can be as busy or relaxed as you choose. For those wishing to engage in much-loved outdoor pursuits or try out new activities, there's a tantalising choice for all ages, whatever the weather and time of year. The island has a wealth of sporting activities to suit all ages and abilities, on both land and in the water. All over Jersey there is a complete alphabet of outdoor activities that runs from archery and abseiling to zip wiring and , while on the water activities can be as relaxing or as adrenalin fueled as you wish, from windsurfing to sea kayaks, snorkelling and sailing to coasteering and diving.
There's perhaps no better way to explore than by foot, whether you prefer a slow stroll across the sands or hike along the cliff top paths, there's something for everyone. Visit the local tourist office for a guide to local walks, or alternatively plan your visit during the annual Spring and Autumn Walking Weeks.
Talking of festivals, carnivals and events, Jersey really does cover all interests, be it music, food and drink, heritage, agriculture, the arts and so much more besides. Some of the most popular events include the International Air Display, when the skies of Jersey come alive annually in September; one of Europe's most spectacular carnivals, Battle of Flowers, takes place each August with flower festooned floats, musicians, dancers and entertainers; Liberation Day on the 9th May in the Channel Islands is a big occasion with parades, music and entertainment; music also features prominently particularly in September when the Jersey Live Festival of Music takes place; and there's Tennerfest which runs for six weeks (October-early November) where Jersey food and drink specialties can be tried and tasted with special menus starting at just £10.
