Day 1: Fly to Kuala Lumpur.
Day 2 Kuala Lumpur/Malacca: On arrival at KL airport you will be met and transferred to Malacca, the historical town known as the cradle of civilisation in Malaysia (approx 93 miles/2 hours drive).
Day 3 Malacca/Kuala Lumpur: The culinary experience begins with a visit to a local wet market. A cookery demonstration is followed by lunch at a Peranakan Restaurant for a blend of traditional Malay and Chinese cooking originating from Malacca. This afternoon return to Kuala Lumpur (approx 90 miles/2 hours drive).
Day 4 Kuala Lumpur: Visit a grocery wholesale market before you adjourn to Lazat Malaysian Home for a cookery lesson and lunch. Afternoon tour of KL includes the National Museum, Lake Gardens, the bustling Chinatown and a photo stop at the Petronas Twin Towers. Dinner is at an Aryan Indian Restaurant.
Day 5 Kuala Lumpur/Penang: Depart for Penang. Enjoy lunch en route at Ipoh at the Public Seafood Restaurant for Thai-Chinese style cooking. Evening at leisure (approx 230 miles/4 hours drive).
Day 6 Penang: Morning tour of Penang Island. Stroll through the Spice Garden and enjoy a cooking class. Rest of day at leisure.
Day 7 Penang: See the making of Chinese spring rolls and dumpling wraps at the Chowrasta wet market. Admire the art of joss-stick making before you see the baking of popular “Tao Sa Peah” biscuits. Lunch is at Nasi Kandar Restaurant to experience the signature cuisine of Penang. The remainder of the day is at leisure.
Day 8 Penang: Day at leisure. This evening taste the best Penang street food; try dishes like Char Koay Teow, Laksa, Hokkien Mee and Poh Piah. Enjoy a trishaw ride before a drink at the E&O Hotel.
Day 9 Penang: Time at leisure before your transfer to the airport for your onward journey, or alternatively why not extend your stay?
