Language: Zimbabwe has 16 official languages, but English, Shona and Ndebele are the most widely spoken in the country. In Zambia the official languages are English, Bemba, Nyanja, Tonga, Lozi, Lunda, Kaonde and Luvale.

Departure tax: For Zambia a departure tax of approximately USD25 is payable locally.
Health: Vaccinations may be required and are strongly recommended. Your GP will be able to provide you with specific advice on the destinations in your itinerary.
Best time to travel: Your decision on which side of the falls you will stay will probably be dictated by the time of year you choose to travel, as the water flow varies according to the time of year. Generally, if you visit from mid January to May the Zambian side is preferable, but as the waters diminish from June to early January, the thundering waters are best seen from Zimbabwe. Hwange can be visited year round.
