Flight duration: Rarotonga is approximately 25 hours from the UK (via Los Angeles). Aitutaki is around 45 minutes' flight from Rarotonga.

Local time: GMT -10 hours.

Language: Cook Islands Maori, although English is spoken and understood by many islanders.

Currency: New Zealand dollar, along with local notes and coins.

Passports & Visas: A full British passport, which is machine readable and valid for six months beyond your return date is required.

Health: Vaccinations are required and strongly recommended. Your GP will be able to provide you with specific advice on the destinations in your itinerary.

Best time to travel: Theres never a bad time to visit, with a warm tropical climate all year round. June to August are slightly cooler months, November to March marks the warmer season, with occasional tropical showers. The drier months are from April to November, while the warmer, more humid and damp season is from December to March.
